HDVio 8×2 HDMI and Optical Toslink Switcher V2 w/remote (Dual 4×1) CustomerReview
Setup was easy – worked as advertised.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the following:
1. Design only allows for a vertical setup… and it needs to be clear above it to use the buttons on top… not ideal for a cabinet install.
2. Minor interface issue – The switch connections are numbered 1 to 4 coming from the top down… but you have to push down button to go from 4 to 3, and so on… So you push down to make the switch go up on the view… In short – it’s logically backwards. Not a big deal, just means you have to get used to it.
Good product that allows me to keep and take advantage of my existing receiver and up to 4 HDMI/toslink devices perfectly. I’ve got a PS3, Satellite/DVR, and a computer quickly and easily switching to my HDTV and my receiver with a single optical input.
For the price, this is great, and I recommend it.
